today we going to start with our wiki group work and internet and ethics.
from the starting of the module, we were already told to create an account for the wiki.
yet today, we going to start our group work today.
the purpose of wiki was to allow group work to be done and be discuss there
so as to be able to see and comment different opinions each of us have.
it is meaningful in such way that, you would be able to look back one and each of us have.
you might think different from what you wrote earlier.
groupwork means, commitentment and leadership.
it wil be much more better for work to be done online than
having times of meeting out for discussion.
this was to ensure that each and everyone one of us has the chance to voice out their own opinions and comments.
that was not only widen our research but to increase and train our courage.
however, in conclusion, i will not use wiki for research unless its a group work.
if it was a research, maybe i will consider reading throught people comments .
however, if i am going to do a research by commenting.

in fact, today we have our class test 2 in class.
same procedure and same timing.
i seriously do not much enjoy the second class test of mine.
indeed, i did not really put in much effort compared to class test 1.
as a result, i failed for this test.
having a 9 out of 20.
however, most of my friends said that this test was really tough and tricky.
so, perhaps that was the way i consoled myself for failing this test.

Basically, what we going to do today was to our lecture and practical 8 and 9.
i have in fact chosen one of the resource that i have found out in lecture 3&4.
this was to describe and evaluate each part of the internet resource.
certain site provides you with helps and useful links that can widen your research.
while some might be useful in such way that, they provides us with the updated and latest news.
however, i feel that ones MUST be useful that they provides us with useful information.
actually, there are a lot of things and points to consider about.
like what we have learnt in the previous lessons.
secondly, this activity was to be done within this two days.
in addition, our next task was to have a brief descriptions of what our "dream holiday"
then we were suppose to write and evaluate why we choose that place

therefore, in conclusion my dream holiday was JAPAN.
whereby, they are famous for their hot spring.
or in chinese, they called "bei hai dao".

early in the morning, i guess everyone was ready and prepared to fight the battle.
therefore, we started our first call quiz this morning.
overall, the result of my quiz i am quite disappointed in myself.
i got 13 out of 20.
i did my preparation, yet i still get such low marks.
maybe, i am still lack of understanding towards my lectures.
however, after the quiz, i am more familiar with it.
in fact, i found so interesting about this quiz was.
we would have to enter password which was "stylo" before we could enter it.
i have done so many online quiz
this was my first time using such kind of features.

having throught total of 7 lectures up till now, i believe we have gone through many
up and downs.
however, we were suppose to hand in part one of our portfolio.
that includes, the research and print screens of the 4 engines.
the google search engine, scholar google search engine, meta-crawler and the yahoo directory.
in fact, i have come up with a conclusion of i choose meta-crawler out of the four engines.
in additon, in my print screens , i have pointed and circled the ones and their features.
i pointed out why they are useful,
which features is important,
the do(s) and do not.
next, we got to add up with a report with conclusion about the print screen.

basically, what we going to learnt today was to evaluate the different interent information
resources and know their usefulness.
what we going to find out was the invisible web or it is call database more useful
compared to the other search facalities.
one of it is the academic gateway and the other one was the complete planet.
however, non-user can access them as well.
unlike school TP website, you must belong to the user before you can do any search.
called the "sparks-tp" web.
in fact, through this lecture of mine today.
i had come to a conclusion that i prefer using the Google search web compared to the others.
as for the Google search, i can get so many different webs and links for my research topic.
however, for the database web, they provides information that comes from books.
but they do not really provides much information like the net do.
they also have features that i have difficulties using it.
indeed, i came up with a suggestion.
i asked my little brother of age 14 years old to try using the academic gateway.
eventually, he do not know how to search.
firstly, he could not found the keywords search
and you would stil have to type what you going to search for.
this proves its so much complicated to use.
in addition, Google search provides clearer features and it is more easier to use.
lastly, i might use database on my research but not that often
as i could not get use to the features they have and i do not really like how they
provide their informtion.

Today is the day that it falls on a piblic holiday.
luckily, this public holiday saves me from all those school work.
however, we still have a lot more to be done.
due to this public holiday, does not mean that we have no work to do.
But to be done online!
in fact, i have just sent my work 1 hour plus ago.
what our work is about?
it is to discuss how interent enriched our social and academic life...
bascially, what i found it amazing is the discussion forum.
although you have to wait for days but people over the world whom you do not even know reply to your question. that not only increase my courage.
since young, i have always been afraid of people looking down on me.
therefore, i have never talk to people that i do not know.
i alway have the feel that, they will look down on my reply and response to them.
however, through forum, i starts to be positive.
in fact, this teaches me how to be socialble instead.
Being working in pub as a waitress, ones has to be social.
we have to talk to people to entertain them so as to be social.
i find it hard rather, each time i tried i am afraid.
but through times of experience, i have indeed success.
therefore, being social brings not much difficulty to me.
with this, i am being saved!

Tomorrow shall be a long holiday.
meaning, there are a lot of work to be done.
As for today, our lesson was to learn the other two more search engines.
they are, meta-crawler and yahoo directory.
Then what we going to do was to compare between them and choose which one is better
among google search and scholar google.
however, this is the first time i know Meta-crawler.
it was so amazing, it was in net for so long and this is the first time i know him.
in fact, through those search engines that i have used before i found that Meta-crawler is the
one that i prefer the most.
One of the reason is , they do not provides that has one whole chunk like what Google they all provides.
they not only search above all the search engines, but they get the most relevant websites for you to search for.
therefore, through this Meta-crawler i found my website for my discussion forum.
that eases all my worries that i have mention earlier
because due to some problem that a also dunno, i got banned from a certain forum.
in addition, i got my reply back from the discussion forum!

basically, class today was competitive indeed. we have learnt how to compare and analysis the
effectiveness of search facilities. we were asked to try the google search and scholar google search to search
for our topic discussion. in addition, my topic was to discuss the impact of alcoholism on youths.
Having that, we have to compare each components and how it brings usefulness to us.
in conclusion, i had found out that scholar google search load much faster compared to google search.
However, the amount of search results in google search is more than what the scholar google search provides.
It is because they might narrow down the websites that exactly suits the search.
other than that, scholar google search functions a bit different from google search.
for example, scholar google search provides key authors right at the below for inner of searches.
But google search provides websites that is linked to your keywords.
actually there are so much more to say.
in fact, today we have to start with our dicussion forum online on our topic.
at first, i did send and did receive replys on my thread.
when i came back home, they said my account was banned due to some reasons.
therefore, i have to search for other forums.
afterall, i find that forums is not really a useful site.
if no one is going to reply you, meaning no answers.
unlike website search, you got your answers straight away. forums may seem interesting as you will be talking to people all over the whole.
However, i dislike forums.
you might spend days without for answers. As for citation that we have learnt in lecture 2, we going to use in every work we have done. this is to ensure that we acknowledge the author. there are lots more to learn from!

After the continued lesson on practical 1, we learnt our new lesson called "E-shopping Spree".
this purpose was to teach us how to do shopping online and how to learnt from budget.
normally online stuffs are much more cheaper compare to those outside shops selling.
however, through online shopping, one must learnt to and when to know the budget.
ones might see and order what they like and carelessly forget to see the prices as

what i experience was, i have never use to be that energentic like before.
perhaps that was the cause.

i am Eunice in PID year two.
In fact, this is my first time taking this EIR, Effective Internet Research course.
people says this course going to be simple and easy.
yet, our lecture said that, some parts had changed.
so now, i am going to experience it myself!
Along my way towards my polytechinic life i have taken different kinds of courses.
However, each has their own strategy.
Today shall be my first class in school and everyone were punctual indeed.
i am looking forward for the next lesson!
through this first section, i learnt quite a few interesting things.
in fact, there are different kinds of search facalities in the internet.
examples like, blog and even forum.
i have never used these search facalities for my research before.
in addition, i have learnt how to see the diffenences between personal wesbite or oranganisation.
if it is personal, means the website is own by one company.
when the website is own by many company, it is organisation.
this was in fact my first time using blog entries for my project.
normally, i update my own personal stuffs and my daily work using my own personal blog.
